How I Sketched This Italian Scene
Buongiorno from Italy!
In this Draw Tip Tuesday, filmed in May, I take you along on a coffee and sketch date in the heart of Orvieto.
Sitting in Piazza del Popolo, I grab my fountain pen and sketch the scene around me: rugged buildings, parasols, passing people, and dramatic skies. I didn't have a tripod with me, so I just made snapshots of my sketch as it evolved, and I'll give you tips along the way.
I share how I build the drawing using negative space, how I work fast when people might leave, and how just a splash of color can bring a scene to life. Plus, I talk about my love for coffee and sketch dates during travel workshops.
