Hi there, I’m Koosje!

pronounced "Kōsha”

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing practice too, because it can make you feel good.

A Sketchbook From Paris to Germany

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Another sketchbook filled!
This one has some travel in it. Paris, home in the Netherlands, and a week in Germany.

What I love about doing these flip-throughs is looking back at what I was thinking when I made each page.

There are experiments in here that felt uncertain while I was doing them, including one landscape I did twice, completely differently, just to see what would change.

The page I keep coming back to is one I drew at a cafe in Germany. A line of school kids showed up for ice cream, a man sat down looking completely content with his cone, and I just had to capture that moment. I was nervous to add a second color but I knew I couldn't leave the page with just the one color either. I think it made all the difference.

You know I love food, and drawing it too. So there's a couple of pages filled with Pretzels, and some strawberries that were too good not to sketch.
Also, a spread that came together even though I forgot to bring half of my tools.

I hope it gives you a little nudge to pick up your own sketchbook too, this week!
