Hi there, I’m Koosje!

pronounced "Kōsha”

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing practice too, because it can make you feel good.

Why Looking Back at Your Sketchbooks Matters

Why Looking Back at Your Sketchbooks Matters

I’ve been looking back at the sketchbooks I filled this year. So many things happened this year. And each drawing is a reminder of moments big and small. Together, all those pages in my sketchbooks tell the story of my year. Where I went, what I did, how I felt, and who I shared time with.
I also feel excited about the things I’ve done out of my comfort zone, to learn and grow.

Your sketchbook is a place to try, test and explore.

The pages are full of all kinds of moments. Random everyday things, vacation days, a workshop trip, big events, quiet in between days. There are drawings of friends, family, and colleagues. Pages I love. Pages that didn’t turn out as planned but taught me a lot anyway.

Flipping through these sketchbooks makes me smile. It reminds me how much life fits into a few books. How drawing quietly records moments you might otherwise forget. Drawing makes me happy, and looking back at these pages shows me why.

Pro tip: Take a moment to look back at what you made this year.

Your sketchbook holds more than you remember. What did you learn along the way? Chances are, you did more than you think.
