What Fits in a Small Sketchbook? A Lot.
There is something so satisfying about filling a sketchbook cover to cover, and this little Hahnemühle Nostalgie A6 has given me a lot of joy.
This one has a good story. It started as a backup sketchbook on a trip to Spain, just in case I ran out of paper (which I did!). Back home in the Netherlands I kept filling its pages with everyday adventures big and small, and eventually it came with me to Paris too.
Flipping through it you can see I tried out things I learned during the workshop in Spain, playing with color, and also just going back to what I know and love: a juicy black line and a touch of watercolor. No rules, just drawing.
That mix of experimenting and coming back to your own style is really what sketchbook keeping is about. You pick it up regularly, you draw what's in front of you, and over time the pages tell a story you did not plan but are really glad you have.

I hope this sketchbook tour inspires you to pick up your sketchbook more often, that's exactly what it's all about. Daily, weekly, just keep it regular(ish) and it really does make life better. I wrote a whole book about it!
