Hi there, I’m Koosje!

pronounced "Kōsha”

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing habit too, because it can make you feel good.

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Are you participating yet in Drawing Bingo?
While I'm currently traveling and preparing for a series of workshops in September, October, and early November, I'll keep giving you nudges to keep going on your art journey!

That's why I created a Drawing Bingo card just for you.
You can get it through this link

Mark off as many prompts on the bingo card as you can, aiming to complete one every day. I'll be here each week to offer that extra motivation to keep you going. Sound like a plan? Let's do this thing.

For today's drawing, we'll be using the website window-swap.com. On this website, people from all over the world are submitting videos, recorded from their windows.

Let's find a window with a view to sketch. It'll feel like you're visiting someone at their home in Turkey, the UK, the US, Sweden or wherever you choose to go, and stare out of their window to draw the view.

You can put the video on loop if you don't want the website to automatically switch to a new window after 10 minutes. For today's video, I found a great window, looking out over rooftops in Edinburgh.

Speaking of Edinburgh...

If you'd like to travel to Edinburgh for real, with me: clear your calendar for July 22-26 2024! I'll be teaching a 5-day vacation workshop, and I'd love for you to join.

Don't hesitate too long, because it's a small-group workshop, so tickets are limited. Go here for info and enrollment

Materials used in this video:

  • Hahnemühle Watercolor sketchbook, A5, portrait

  • Edding 3000 permanent marker

  • Daniel Smith Watercolors

  • Pentel Aquash waterbrush

Your assignment today:

Find a window with a view to sketch. Click through, until you see something that speaks to you. But don't spend too much time clicking, because that'll eat up the time you have ton draw! If you'd like to visit the same window as I did for today's video, then go here. Don't forget to put the video on a loop if you want your view to last longer than the standard 10 minutes.

Enjoy your drawing time, and don't forget to cross it off on your Bingo Card.

If you're sharing your art inspired by Drawing Bingo on social media, then please use the hashtag #kksdrawingbingo, so I can see what you made.
