Hi there, I’m Koosje!

pronounced "Kōsha”

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing practice too, because it can make you feel good.

Sketching Life as It Happens

I filled another sketchbook! Flipping through a sketchbook is always a little trip down memory lane.

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Big and small memories in these pages: drawing in cafes and at home.
I also had a really special trip to Belgium with my dad for his birthday. We visited a fantastic exhibition in Liege, a retrospective of photographer Robert Doisneau, and stayed the night. Of course I took my sketchbook with me and recorded a few moments. I'm so thankful I get to spend time with my parents. That we have things in common!

I sketched during Zoom sessions with friends, and taught another online workshop, this one focused on color. Because we can all use a little more color and brightness right now, don't you agree? And of course my husband has been serving as an unsuspecting model again.

In this sketchbook there's also some of the homework for a visual storytelling course by Rita Sabler. For one of the field trip assignments, she sent us out to interview strangers and draw them at the same time.
You know I'm pretty comfortable and confident when sketching in public. Interviewing people while drawing them though, that was a whole different thing! It was great to be pushed out of my comfort zone during the assignments. I loved it. I already posted about it here on Patreon recently, but  I'll be sharing a bit more about my course project in an upcoming Draw Tip Tuesday video.
