Showing up is all that matters
October is behind us and with that, #inktober is complete!
Thank you so much to everyone who played along this month. It doesn't matter if you did all 31 prompts, a handful, or even just one. Every drawing counts, and showing up is all that matters.
I didn't follow every prompt on my own list either. I managed to do a lot still, see the animated GIF above.
I loved seeing what everyone made. Your drawings are a great reminder of how much creativity comes out when we just start.
Some of you told me you've never managed to keep going with an Inktober challenge before, but this time you did, thanks to a list that was all about the process-oriented rather than about subjects or results. Some said they had fun playing while practicing their skills. And it was great for (re)discovering materials, like a dip pen, brush pen or India ink. That makes me so happy to hear!
What's next?
If you enjoyed this challenge, I think you'll love what's next. I'm working on an online program inspired by my book Life is Better When You Draw It. It's 10 lessons packed with lots of drawing, to help you get going, and keep going in your sketchbook.
Want to be the first to know whenI have news about the program? Join the interest list, and I will email soon.
