Hi there, I’m Koosje!

pronounced "Kōsha”

I’m an artist and creative entrepreneur living in the Netherlands. I love drawing and I do it every day. On this website, I hope to inspire you to develop a drawing habit too, because it can make you feel good.

Set Yourself Up For Success

Set Yourself Up For Success

Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!

Throughout the years, I have met many artists, and I made a lot of sketcher friends thanks to my drawing practice. When I meet up with them, I always love seeing their tools and the way they organize them. Somehow, it's interesting to see other people's systems and routines. Not that everyone's system makes sense to me - but probably it does for them!

Today, I'd like to share why I think it's important to not just chuck everything into a bag, but be a little organized to set yourself up for a fun drawing session.

Materials shown in this video:

  • Pencil roll: DIYOMR 24 Slots Pencil Wrap (available on Amazon)

  • Colored pencils: Caran d'ache Luminance

  • Black watercolor box: Schminke

  • Small watercolor box: Vintage W&N

  • Yellow watercolor box:  Case for Making (available on caseformaking.com)

  • Mini: Altoids box

  • Pens:

  • Sailor fude fountain pen with 55 degree angle calligraphy nib

  • Lamy Safari fountain pen with nib B

  • Pencil sharpener:  Faber-Castell

  • Pencil bag: FolderSys, A5

  • Lightweight sitting mat: This one is by the Ducth shop Bever, but you can find these in outdoor shops in the camping gear section

  • Also quickly shown here are the stand-up pencil cases from the brand Delde and the brand Neo Critz.

If you're curious about pencil bags and more: watch this video in which I show some favorite art tools.

Assignment this week
Your assignment for this week is to prepare yourself and then grab your stuff to head out and do a drawing. If drawing on location is not your thing or it's not an option this week, draw something at home
