Where
Online (Zoom)

Why
If you like my Draw Tip Tuesday videos, you might like to hang out and draw with me live.

What
We'll meet on Zoom to draw together. I will prepare instruction and an assignment for us all to work at during the hour.
We'll talk about the creative process, about art supplies, but also about random stuff that will come up. Together we'll be celebrating creativity!
Since we're all in different time zones, this could be your creative coffee break, lunch, or evening session. Bring your own drinks and snacks if you like, but most important: your sketchbook and art supplies.
You'll also get the recording of the session in case you miss the live session or if you'd like to watch it again in your own time.

City Drawing Trip Paris, June 2024

When
Friday, June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd, 2024

Where
Paris

Why
For both creatives who draw regularly and could use a drawing boost, and for people who used to draw and would love to get back into it.
Not a business trip or family vacation, but three days just for you. Drawing is the focus, as you might expect, and there's time to explore beautiful Paris as well!

What
Taking yourself out of your usual environment and landing in a different world, leads to a shift in your being and senses.
Bonjour Paris! Hello sunny terraces on the sidewalk. Coffee and croissants among the French, picnics in the city park. Walks along Canal Saint Martin (and the Seine if you want).
Through drawing assignments, you'll see your surroundings differently and experience Paris in a way you haven't before: as an artist. And we are all artists.
Koosje and Sabine are experienced workshop instructors in addition to being illustrators/artists, and create a safe space for you and the small group of workshop participants; people who you surely have a lot in common with.

The City Drawing Trip includes four inspiring half-day assignments from Koosje and Sabine, a portrait party, City Drawing Trip e-book about drawing while traveling, a gift package including a nice sketchbook for the City Drawing Trip, 2 favorite drawing pens (1 from Koosje and 1 from Sabine), and more goodies. Excludes all meals and transportation to Paris.

FAQs
1. What time do I need to be there on Friday? And until what time on Sunday?
We start on Friday at 2:00 PM (so you can take the Thalys train that morning) at a beautiful location that you'll hear about from us in time. Make sure to check in by 1:00 PM (if you booked a hotel through us) so you can leisurely stroll to the starting location. You probably won't be able to access your room yet, but you can store your luggage at the hotel.
We wrap up on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM, giving you enough time to return to your hotel, pick up your luggage, and - if you're traveling by train - head to Gare du Nord. So, book your Thalys train for departure around 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM (or stay longer and catch the last train at 7:30 PM).

2. What if I find a trip like this quite exciting and may be a bit nervous or anxious?
• Creating a pleasant environment where all participants feel safe is our priority. This enhances the creative process.
•We promote a positive mindset about what you create yourself and do not judge drawings as good or bad. Instead, we value your courage, enjoyment, and growth.
•We're not a class where grades are given but a group of creatives seeking growth (and a fun time in an a-ma-zing city).

3. What drawing materials should I bring?
• Take 1 pencil and 1 drawing pen as a basic. And you can even take either one and still have a great City Drawing Trip. Seriously.
• But mainly bring what you enjoy working with or what you would like to work with. Or something you haven't used in a while or have lying around but never picked up to create with.
• Sniffing around each other's drawing materials is part of a City Drawing Trip, and visiting the art supply store in Paris after that sniffing, is always a success.
